I have spent 20 years of my profession in the housing industry. It still remains one of my greatest passions because housing touches every facet of life. My primary focus in housing has been fair housing, homelessness, affordable housing, financing,  and community and economic development. These broad housing categories shape housing policy and set trends for new ones.

Housing is a very unique field because everything imaginable is connected to it. If you were to brainstorm about housing, I bet your ideas would include transportation, poverty, discrimination, employment, insurance, mortgage lending, financing, redevelopment, sustainable communities, homelessness, and a host of others. The ideas would grow infinitely.

I write about housing from an urban perspective because I live in one of the largest urban cities.  Urban issues, as it relates to housing, is different than what you will find in small towns or rural areas.
